I am a 30-something former high school Biology teacher now turned stay-at-home mother of three young children. I have an 8 year old daughter, a 4 year old son, and a toddler and most of the time I enjoy them. There are times when they drive me utterly bonkers, but even then I still love them. After all, it took a lot of effort to get them here.
I have a remarkable husband who I have been married to for 11 years and he loves me dearly … faults and all. He is extremely supportive of me and who I am.
I am also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I don’t know how I would function without the gospel in my life.
I love to read. I love to organize. I love things that are clean, but I don’t always like to do the cleaning. I love to go to the gym – mainly because I am grumpy when I don’t go. I also love to eat good food – good bread and good dark chocolate are a must have.
I live in the rainy and gloomy, but sometimes sunny Pacific Northwest. I am originally from Southern California (Los Angeles to be exact), but we are learning to love being surrounded by green.
(And in case you were wondering, to protect both the guilty and innocent, I use aliases on my blog. My husband is “Rudy,” my daughter is “Keri,” my older son is “Cory” and my little baby is “Eli.” I go by “Lucy.”)
Happy Reading!

I have something I want to send you (inspired from your WFMW tip about including notes in Christmas stockings).
Would you mind sending me your email address. My email is adoptive_mom_1@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Hello,
I opened your Blog from my daughter, Erin’s links. I too am soooo very happy to have the gospel in my life. Something is happening to a couple that go to my ward and I am very sad about it. When I heard they may become less active I became very sad and wondered how the husband, especially, could leave the church. He had gone on a mission. I have more of an appreciation for the gospel in my life because of what they are going through.

Hi…I just found your blog. Love it! I don’t know if this will help you spend more time with your family or not, but I organize blog tours for authors. Would you be interested in reviewing books on your blog or just blogging about books every so often? Send me an email and I’ll send you more info.
I live in the Pacific northwest too! Nice to meet you!

What a great family photo. And I love the header of your blog and your desire to make an extroidinary difference in the lives of your children. I want to do that too, but each day is a learning experience! It’s so nice to “meet” you.

This said it all to me: “I think the lack of space can partly account for some of my short fuse with the kids and with life in general lately.”
As John pointed out–$4 a day is not too high a price for familial harmony.
Love your blog!

Oops. My previous comment was supposed to go with your Conundrum post.
