My “Good Life”

Recently while running errands during the evening hours, on a rare occasion where I was by myself even, I heard the song “Good Life” by OneRepublic on the radio.

I started bobbing my head to the catchy tune while cranking up the volume. Instantly my mind began to wander back to all that has happened these last few months and I realized that since I heard this song so much this summer it is always going to remind me of the summer of 2011 and all the good new things we had going on – a new baby in the home, Randy’s new job, looking for and buying a new home and the kids starting a new school.

Even flashes of packing on warm summer evenings came to mind and now that memory, as tedious as packing is and as hard as it is with kids underfoot and a nursing infant, brings back good feelings.

My life is good.

It is definitely a “good life”  - though most likely not in all the ways OneRepublic implied.

But still, I know and feel like I am abundantly blessed … even though we do have some of the sick crud plaguing our house right now.

P.S.  In case you noticed, Rudy now has a new name on my blog – Randy.  I was never much into Rudy (not trying to offend anyone with that name) and I finally told my husband that I was going to change the name he chose for himself ;) .

Thanks for this post! It helped me to remember that even with all the craziness that life can throw at me, I really do have a good life and I much to be thankful for. Also, listening to music is a good way to brighten up a hard day :)

  2. Ooo, I love that song but I didn’t know the name. Yay! Now I can put it on my iphone. =D

I totally get the grateful feeling you’re experiencing right now. I’m knocked flat with a head cold at the moment, and yet I’m happy and feeling blessed. Life is good, despite the hard bits, and I love this moment (possibly brief) of clarity in which I’m enjoying the fact.

What a great reminder, my dear friend! I LOVE this song, btw!
Life IS good and thanks for the reminder of looking at what matters most…the fun even in packing! :)
    You truly deserve the best!
