I was only in labor for about 7 hours, and for a one week early medical induction, my labor and delivery went remarkably well. I have no major complaints, except it would have been nice if I didn’t deliver him posterior (a.k.a. “face-up” or “sunny-side-up”) … at least my bruised tailbone seems to be healing quickly.
We got home from the hospital on Sunday afternoon. They kept us a little longer because I was having some “plumbing” issues. Hopefully those complications are now fully on the mend as well. So far Ari is a nursing champ and he is doing decently in the sleeping-at-night department.
Ari is an angelic little baby boy and he has already charmed everyone in the house, including his Aunt who is here to help out until next week. Everyone wants a turn to hold him and watch him. Even 2 1/2 year old Eli loves the new baby, though Eli is having somewhat of a difficult time adjusting to not having mom around as much as he used to.
I feel overwhelmingly blessed, even though I am also exhausted and I need to make sure I don’t overdo things. More details and pictures to soon follow …
