I am definitely starting to think that this nesting instinct is just a myth.
The second cartoon much more accurately describes how I have been feeling lately. At least I still go to the gym nearly every morning. And I always seem to get my second wind after all the kids are in bed for the night. That is not necessarily a good thing because then I stay up way too late.
During the day I feel like I am doing well just to keep up with the demands of every day life while attempting to keep the two-year old out of mischief [talk about a child who is fiercely independent!].
That’s OK, though. In about 7 weeks we will be moving on to the next stage of having a newborn in the home
!

I am beginning to think nesting is a myth too or maybe I just have selective nesting. I am excited to unpack and organize all baby’s stuff, but have been staring down a sink full of dishes all day.
Seven weeks? Oh wow…something about getting down into the single digits just really hits it home, doesn’t it? I’m so excited for you guys!
I LOVE the second one. 7 weeks — yippee!
nesting=a true-to-definition reality for your first!
nesting=a different version…literally sitting on your nest with your 4th!
you are amazing! and wow me daily!
love ya.
I wondered if nesting was a myth, but after exhibiting tell-tale signs of it I became a believer… I’m expecting my fourth in about 3 weeks and “nesting” entered my system about a month ago. I spent 4 hours one afternoon cleaning out our file cabinets and after that I tackled the kitchen. And over the past few weeks, I’ve had the urge to clean out every closet in my house. I’ve read about extreme behaviors women who are “nesting” experience, like throwing out perfectly good sheets and taking apart the knobs on kitchen cabinets to disinfect the screws attached to them- luckily, I haven’t gone that far!
