This morning at my 6 week post partum doctor’s appointment, I got the OK to start working out again after a nine month hiatus.
What did I do later in the day?
I unearthed my gym shoes …
Dug out my iPod Shuffle …
Grabbed some reading material …
And headed to the gym.
How did it feel?
Exhilarating! I felt like me again.
Getting back into a regular workout routine is definitely going to bring some much needed stability to my life. Thank goodness for exercise endorphins.

Good for you! I am still trying to get back into a normal routine. I am doing much better, but getting to the gym is much harder with 3 kiddos in tow.
I hope you enjoy Breaking Dawn! I loved it!

Good for you! Can you work out enough for two because my exercising seems to have fallen by the wayside
And I just finished Breaking Dawn … how are you liking it? I’m interested to see if anyone had the same reaction as me

Yea, you’re pretty much amazing! My baby is 1 year and 6 weeks old…and I just started really exercising, well, yesterday. So way to go for you!!!
I really struggled a lot with postpartum depression after my 3rd baby and so that hindered my return to exercising. (although, isn’t it ironic that exercising is exactly what I needed to help me overcome the depression!!!!)
Way to go! Keep it up!!!!!!!

you go, girl! one thing that is great about exercise time is that it can be alone-with-your-thoughts time. i love that, even if i don’t love the hard work involved (or the sleep deprivation required for me to be a regular gym-goer). keep up the good work.

Yay! I need that so bad! I am itching to do “me” things like that! I have actually done some without the Dr’s okay. I’m bad, but I just can’t stand it.
I’m glad you are feeling so good!

My bad. I must be lucky…I went back to the gym 8 days after having Collin…. just take it easy my doctor said, but luckily I was able to work out up until the day I had him, literally. But, yes, I agree endorphins, a must for mommies!

Endorphins are great and I love being able to read and exercise at the same time so I can accomplish twice as much at once!

Congratulations on this milestone. It will all go so quickly in the coming months. Enjoy being less bleary-eyed so you can experience it.

Good for you…and GREAT choice on reading material too! …though I’m a little surprised that you can stand to read only when you excercise. It was all I could concentrate on for an entire day and a half that it took me to read it…
And I still find myself wandering off into that world every now and again…
