I just found out that President Gordon B. Hinckley has passed away. He was the prophet of our church, The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons) for the last 13 years.
Of course I cried, but I am grateful to know he is now in a better place.

I just found out too! It’s hard even though we knew it was coming sometime soon. I’m so glad that he’s been reunited with his sweet wife.

I didn’t imagine I’d find this out via a blog! Technology is pretty cool like that though. He will be missed, but you are right, it’s wonderful to know he’s back with his sweet wife and in a better place

I can’t help but be happy for him. I will miss his jokes and good humor and his conducting at the General Conferences.

My sister called me with the news this morning. President Hinckley will be so missed. I am just thankful to know that as soon as he passed, the mantel was passed to president Monson and that we still have a prophet that is leading and guiding us.

He will be missed, that is for certain.

Such a good man, I’m so happy he is with Sister Hinckley again, even though we will miss him so much.

He definitely will be missed! But as you said he is in a much better place.

Just seeing his picture on your blog made me cry again. All the flags here are at half mast. That makes me cry too.

I’m an atheist who pays a great deal of attention to religion in this country and while I don’t believe in LDS (or any other religion) I have always been struck by Hinckley. He seemed like a very vibrant, loving, and gentle soul. I’m sorry for your loss.

I share your…everyone’s…pain, and I thank you for raising awareness of his death. I wrote a tribute of my own, but I don’t know that any clever arrangement of words could ever do Gordon B. Hinckley justice.

all day i have been thinking about the reunion he is having with his honey…it makes me smile, and feel less sad about not having him here anymore.

I feel happy for him, and Sister Hinckley. But sad for us.

To see the “Breaking News” air of his passing was such a surprise. We knew it would happen yet how much we will dearly miss him. What a reunion he must have had with his dear wife and loved ones. What an example to the world.

Thank you for blogging about it. Like someone else commented, no words can truly express our feelings, but we can try, can’t we?

We thee oh God for a prophet to guide us in these latter days–truly a prophet for our day. He has made me want to be better in all I undertake to do. To stand a little taller and try a little harder. Love you tons.
