Menu Plan Monday - October 1, 2007
October?! I think time literally keeps speeding up. I suppose I better make sure we have the kids’ Halloween costumes planned.
And just for fun, here is another food quote. It will probably make you chuckle and think, all at the same time.
We are living in a world today where lemonade is made from artificial flavors and furniture polish is made from real lemons. ~Alfred E. Newman
I grew up with a lemon tree in my backyard so I am a lemonade snob. It has to be fresh and sweet, otherwise it is a waste of calories. My Grandpa’s recipe for lemonade is my absolute favorite. Speaking of favorites, I recently posted my favorite salad dressing recipe. It is simply heavenly and it is easy to make, Poppy Seed Salad Dressing.
Monday: Meatloaf, potatoes and veggies
Tuesday: Chicken, Broccoli and Ziti Skillet (new recipe to try)
Wednesday: Leftovers
Thursday: More leftovers
Friday: Spaghetti and salad with Poppy Seed Dressing
Saturday: Sweet and Sour Chicken, rice and fruit
Sunday: My Day Off

I am also a lemonade snob! It’s so hard to find real lemonade in restaurants.
So…recipe?

To kick of October, I’m alllll about tasty squashes. I’m trying to figure out a way to work pumpkin into every meal. Because I am just a bit weird like that.

That meatloaf sounds tasty, and the poppyseed dressing pic made my mouth water. I bet it is so good with fresh fruit!

I too am a huge fan of all things flavored lemon. It is one of my favorite flavors for desserts too. I thought that in Thailand there would be lemons galore, but alas, they make no distinction between limes and lemons. We have all been pining for some real lemonade!
No such thing as a lemon snob, just good taste!

Yum-Yum. We love meatloaf, but I always use the McCormick seasoning packet (but hate the sodium) so I am going to bookmark yours and give it at try next time…. Also, that is the same topping I use - we love it! Enjoy your week.
