Works-For-Me: Burt’s Beeswax

burts-beeswax.jpgI am a lip balm connoisseur, some people might even call me a fanatic. Bottom line is, I never leave home without it. It is always conveniently packed in the diaper bag, tucked in my pocket or stowed in my purse for easy access.

I used to be a huge fan of Blistex, but then I got tired of the way it always melted and separated in the tube. I then switched over to the Cherry Natural Ice brand and that worked for awhile. I have even tried the expensive Mary Kay Satin Lips Lip Balm and overall I liked that product, too, but it wasn’t worth the money. The Star 101.5 Natural Peppermint Lip Balm I picked up for free this past year at our local zoo, though, has definitely been a great investment. Not sure what company manufactures this one, but it is made in the U.S.A.

However, my favorite kind of lip balm, the one I am completely loyal to, the brand my lips actually seem to crave, is Burt’s Beeswax. It is soothing, long lasting and healing. It is easy to love the peppermint tingle this lip balm provides. I prefer the tube over the tin, but I own both types of containers. I have been a fan now, for over 15 years.

  • Mmm…love that stuff! And love that they sell it at our local grocery store. =)

  • I love the lip balm, I have a tinted one. It adds just a bit of color and all the greatness of the original. Great tip!

  • It sounds wonderful but does it have sparkles? I need my sparkles!

  • I haven’t tried it before, maybe I’ll ahve to give it a try next time I see it at the store.

  • A very good friend of ours recommend this highly. Yes, it works for her too :)

  • I am a fan of the Natural Ice, but I have some Burts from a Christmas stocking. I am going to have to break it open!

Loved reading your post about meeting Lara. It’s so cool this bloggy world!

  • I love my lip balm also. Never tried that brand. I will buy it next time I get a new lip balm. I keep one right by bed so I can put it on before I fall asleep.

  • OOo, we love Burt’s Bees as well! I’m a total convert to their whole baby line, and DH is as well (don’t tell him I said that!). We use it for our whole family!

  • My husband likes this brand too. He likes the canister, I like the tub. I was glad to see that Target carries it.

  • Where doth one get this stuff to try? Is there some store, prechance in the greater SLC area, that sells it?

    Anyone?

  • I’ll have to try this kind. Thanks!

  • I love this, too! I do prefer the tube rather than the tin.

  • mmm…lip balm. I haven’t tried that kind. Thanks for the tip. I love the kind that have a minty tingle.

  • I have still not tried Burts but everyone keeps saying it is great stuff. I am going to have to break down and grab a tube next time I am in the store.

  • I love, love, love Burt’s Bees! My girls love it too so we always have 4 tubes floating around the house. I’ve never tried the honey one though but my kids have and said it’s gross. I’m also a converted Blistex user. I like the Mary Kay Satin lips but as you said, it’s pricey and honestly, Vaseline works just as well.

  • My daughter has severely dry lips. I’ll pick some of this up and give it a try! Great tip.

  • I LOVE Burt’s Bees! I, too, always have lip balm handy and this is my favorite!!

  • I got this funny site from muskadillo dreaming. I hope you get a kick out of it, since you like lip balm so much!! It is pretty funny, once I realized it was all a big joke!

  • I took a little box of Burt’s Bees skin care stuff with me when I backpacked through the Sierra Nevadas. It had the lip balm you mention, some salve for stings, and insect repellent. That lip balm helped me feel clean and girly even when the rest of me was covered in dust and sweat.

  • I’ve seen Burt Bee things floating around the stores in my area. But I never tried it.

  • This is definitely my favorite too! I learned one year during my youth when I was working outdoors for a summer and would get really chapped lips, that chapped lips is actually a sign of dehydration. When ever I find myself really needing a lot of chapstick, suddenly I go, oh yeah, I must be getting dehydrated. Time to drink water!

  • Yes, I love the Burt’s Bees lipbalm with a slight tint to it. It feels wonderful and it looks good too!

  • I bought my first one a couple of months ago. I bought a tinted version. It does feel wonderful on the lips!

I am also a fan of the Burt’s Bees balm. As a self-proclaimed lip balm addict, I must also suggest Softlips brand balms. They no longer manufacture the mint flavor, but I’ve found that the other flavors aren’t too shabby. I love this balm because it seems to me that it is less greasy than other brands and still does a great job at keeping my lips…soft.

I love Burt’s Bees everything!! Their hand salve is magnificent. I put it on my feet and then put on a pair of socks when I go to bed. When I get up in the morning the difference is huge!!!! Their baby products rock too. Everyone comments on how nice my kids smell and it is because of BB’s shampoo/ body wash and their baby lotion. Great tip!

  • Never tried that before
