Celebrating Me!

“We women tend to focus so much on our weaknesses and often blow them out of proportion. But our strengths, the things we are good at, go unnoticed, especially by ourselves. I know there are times when I have feared that my confidence may come across as arrogance. It’s taboo to assert your successes as a parent! And even in general, I think women are very careful about how much credit or attention they give to themselves. But we all certainly deserve praise and recognition. And so, right on the heels of Mother’s Day, this ‘Woman to Woman’ will be an opportunity for us all to admit that we are amazing, and to share our strengths with one another.”

I honestly believe we have different seasons in our life where different parts of who we are get to shine through at separate times. For example, right now I would claim I am deep in the season of raising toddlers and young children and therefore a lot of my strengths currently revolve around them. I find I am pretty good at learning to calm shrieking two year olds in the grocery store as I try to buy some much needed milk and I try to be creative as I attempt to figure out how to teach, discipline and inspire my children.

I have also learned to multi-task incredibly well especially since that is the only way I seem to get certain things done. I read while working out at the gym 5 days a week, I return phone calls while waiting to pick children up and I cook dinner while Continue reading
