A Sigh of Relief

The month of April has been insanely busy for me, but last night I cat-calendar-comic.jpgfinally finished my last big obligation. Thank goodness! I now have nothing too stressful occupying the back and front burners of my brain, and right now I am enjoying the sweet sensation … even if it only lasts for a few mere hours.

After I got home last night from the church event for women I was in charge of (it was our annual Visiting Teaching Workshop if you happen to be LDS), my mind was flooded with a variety of thoughts and emotions. Here are a few random feelings and things that were flitting through my head:

1. EUPHORIA!

2. Relief. I felt like a huge lead weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I can handle being in charge of events, but I really don’t revel in them. I would much rather just attend something then plan it.

3. Chatty. I couldn’t stop talking to DH about how fantastic everything turned out because of all the kind and amazing people who helped and participated.

4. Free. There is nothing pressing or urgent that has to be done … at least for today. Let me enjoy this moment because I know it won’t last for very long.

5. Energetic. Even though I was tired from such a long month, I now have more energy knowing things are taken care of. Although a nap is sounding nice.

6. Smiley. Everything I had to accomplish this month turned out well :) .

7. I now have more reading time. Maybe I can finally finish the book I checked out from the library a few months ago that has a fine accruing on it daily since it was due last week.

8. I now have more mommy time. I don’t have to keep shoeing the kids away or telling them no because I have a project to finish or a deadline to meet.

9. I now have more bloggy time. It has been difficult letting my Bloglines account gather up more and more posts to read. I can also now fiddle with loading the new banner Proverbs 31 designed for me since I won a drawing she had at her blog.

10. I now have more catch up time. There are a lot of emails and phone calls I can now take care of … after I enjoy relaxing for a little while.

11. Satisfied. Even though I will gripe and complain about being crazy busy, I still get a rush and a sense of satisfaction from accomplishing things.

12. Wiser. There are some definite lessons I learned from this busy month. I learned how to better prioritize, delegate, take a firm stand and organize while still being happy, calm and considerate.

13. Gratitude. Many prayers were answered as I attempted to survive the month with my sanity mostly intact.
