Lasagna
While my sister was living in Germany, her friend gave her this recipe. I have since adopted it and tweaked it just slightly to meet my own personal taste.
Lasagna
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese
2 15-ounce containers of cottage cheese (do NOT use nonfat!)
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups cheese, grated
1 large can crushed tomatoes
1 6-ounce can tomato paste
1/3 cup dried parsley
1 onion, chopped
1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 package lasagna noodles (I prefer the no-cook kind)
1 teaspoon oregano
2 tablespoons sweet basil
1/4 cup sugar
garlic salt to taste
In a large skillet, brown the meat. Drain. Add parsley and onion. Cook until the onions are tender. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, sweet basil and garlic salt to taste. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. In a medium bowl, beat eggs slightly. Mix in cottage cheese, parmesan cheese and grated cheese. In a sprayed 9*13 dish, layer half the sauce, three no-cook noodles and 1/2 cheese mixture. Repeat. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until cheese is bubbly.
Enjoy!
